I live in Mississippi and had no idea that Tate Reeves decided to lift the mask mandates, which is fucking stupid. Tate reeves knows we have large college campuses (Mississippi State University, The University of Mississippi, Southern Miss, Fulton, Jackson State, the coast colleges) and Tate Reeves knows these damn college kids aren’t going to stay indoors. They’re going to fucking party. Also living in mississippi, I will say that I have not gotten the COVID vaccine. For one reason is that I have underlying mental issues that are not yet diagnosed and with these, it makes my anxiety and stress levels skyrocket around needles. I’m deathly afraid of needles to the point where I haven’t gotten a flu shot in like 4 or 5 years, I’ve been gracious to have never caught it. I’m not an anti-vaxxer, I believe that everyone should be vaccinated, but because of what I’ve experienced in the past with being around needles and being around stressful situations, it’s not a good thing for me to experience...needles are a MASSIVE no for me to the point where I try to find alternatives to get vaccinated or get certain tests done so I don’t have to be stuck with a needle.

It seems despite the governor's decision to open the state and lift the mask mandate a lot of people are still choosing to mask until they get the vaccine. There are still so many people waiting in queue to get the chance to vaccinate, while others who have chosen not to vaccinate are in a split decision to either agree with the opening or continue to distance and mask. While out at the grocery store earlier in the day I noticed most people around me were masking and still maintaining 6 foot distance from everyone else. I've also seen statements and signs on business doors advising they are either still requiring or recommending mask usage while inside their establishment. Obviously I haven't travelled the entire state to see what all cities and towns are doing but in my town, at least, it seems most people do not agree with the governor's decision.

Just do as Sweden did... No mask mandate, no lockdown. Only a capacity restriction in bars and other venues.

This story about Addison just furthers my belief that journalists should only be allowed to interview celebrities in agreed upon circumstances. It’s wrong to invade someone’s privacy this way and it’s wrong to profit off of harassing someone, often in relation to highly emotionally turbulent times. If they wish to speak about it they should be paid for their time and stories. And paparazzi should only be allowed to photograph them at events where they give their consent to be photographed. Covid aside, celebrities give us ample opportunity to talk to them and photograph them. And also why have we normalised knowing so much about a strangers private life? Just because their jobs put them in the public eye doesn’t mean they owe us anything. Anything they do share should be on their own terms and conditions. Can you imagine any other industry where this kind of harassment and invasion of privacy is deemed ok?! I fucking hope not
